the rudest owner – I came once (after going there for 3-4 months weekly for pedicure) at the lunchtime on Friday. No customers were waiting. I asked for pedicure and eyebrow waxing. Lady at the front desk asked me to wait for 5-10 minutes. Sure, I said. Then, "Waxing" specialist (she is also the owner) came and asked me again what I want to be done. Woman Power and More !! – I have been going to International Salon for over fives years for all my manicure, pedicure, and waxing needs. The place is run by three generations of strong willed and fabulous women with a no nonsense attitude. OK work, bad attitude, not an ounce of customer service – Went and got the special here recently. Have to agree with many others. These are the rudest people I have ever dealt with. Even if they did a terrific job (which the job they did was satisfactory at best) I would not return. The person who does the pedicures stinks. She gives a one second massage and it doesn't even feel good AND she actually expects a big tip. I see why Emma is the BEST place to go for waxing – This was my first bikini waxing and I was very nerves OK sacred. Emma help me feel at ease and the next thing I know it was over and so was my nerves. I even got my underarms done too. I really like the friendly atmosphere. I was informed the best days to come in for waxng are Tuesday-Thursday not so crowded.
my first time! – It was lunch time when I walked into International Salon. It was lunch time and very busy. This little woman managed to accommodate all of her clients with a smile on her face. As each person left, I saw nothing but satisfaction on their face. At the end of my bikini,I totally agreed with the happy costumers before me. Contrary to Emma's belief, she is FAR from the best – With brazilians at more reputable salons upwards of $50 a pop, I can understand the appeal of a $35 brazilian. However, Emma is quite possibly the worst esthetician I have ever met. I've been getting brazilians for the last 4 years in San Francisco, San Diego, and Atlanta. Emma spent at most 5 minutes on me and waxed really wide sections, leaving a lot of stray hairs that more thorough and qualified estheticians would have taken care to remove. Best Brazilian – I recently got a brazilian wax from Emma. It was the quickest and least painful brazilian I've ever gotten. I will definitely be returning to International in the future. The prices are extremely affordable, and it's a very professional, no-frills sort of establishment. I am recommending anyone looking for waxing to go to International Salon.
Great place to get waxed! – I've been to a few of the salons in Philly, and International Salon was my best experience so far. Even though this shop didn't have the bamboo-laden zen atmosphere that other salons have, i felt completely comfortable. I loved that my bikini wax was very quick and didn't hurt that much. And since they only charge $35 I can afford to go more often. She did a great job! I'll definitely be going back.
