If you have any kind of surgery done at Indian River Medical Center hospital, I would NOT recommend going to their on-site physical therapy center. Reason being, your bill will be coded as if it was the HOSPITAL itself, not a separate PT center, which is what it actually IS. We have good insurance, but instead of only having to pay a $25 co-pay, like I always have for PT, and it qualifies for, due to the bill being coded as it being the hospital, my bill was HUNDREDS of dollars instead of just $75. Excellent facility. Treated first class by very attentive and friendly staff.
Just want to remind everyone that you never know what kind of person is next to you out in public. Last night while sitting in the waiting room at the ER there was a man who seemed off to me. Chalked it up to him being on drugs. He was always in the kid area or in view of it. Again, chalked it up to it was packed and seating was limited. The girls Joseph and I were all in the kid area the man was outside so I let the kids spread out and relax, about 20 minutes later the man came in and sat against the wall of windows. Absolutely ashamed that this place is representing our community. I have watched nursing staff grab each other's breasts and compare notes on breast augmentation while treating patients. I have seen Dr.s completely ignore the sick, and give less than mediocre customer service to the majority of its patients. There is no standard of care or concern for how badly the staff represents their work place. This truly is a building filled with people collecting a pay check. I hate this place!
KUDOS!! to the nurses and CNA's on Orthopedics, very caring and genuine! keep up the good work. One of the CN was a little short but everyone else very nice and always willing to help. Thank you

Just had my first baby and the experience was wonderful! Had complications and had to have an emergency cesarean section, and the nurse staff was so helpful and compassionate about my situation. Surgery went great, the doctors went above and beyond to make me comfortable. In addition, the attending nurses and techs during my stay were attentive, patient and extremely personable during my stay. I've truly never had such a nice stay at a hospital. If you have to go, go to IRMC!

Dr. Ferral was complete GARBAGE! Worst experience with a doctor to date and I deal with LOTS of doctors due to my medial issues.Hes one of the drs that tells you how you feel and does not listen to a word you have to say. He asked me the same questions 15 different times and i told him what was wrong and I just had surgery on my hip and that I did not want anything for pain to take home I just wanted to be out of severe pain right then.
