Editorial fromOne rich risotto ably introduces Incanto: stringy calf's brains, blood sausage and chicken thigh bits clinging to rice dusted brown with fragrant cinnamon. A fundamental food group in "la cucina povera," offal may go by the name "nasty…

Good food and good wine – Been there twice since they have open. I recommend ordering a flight of wine so you get a sample of their collection. Food is great, but they need to expand the menu
A Noe Valley Jewel – Incanto is my favorite new restaurant in years. The owner/host is gracious and friendly. Every dish I've tried in my two visits has been flawless. The menu changes frequently, and everything tastes fresh and exciting. The simple dish of penne pasta with tomatos and cheese melted on top was so good that I was still thinking about it days later. The ribeye steak, which appears to be a regular item, was done to perfection. The wine list is first-rate, and the staff helps with selections. My only small compl... read more
Good, but pricey – Good food, knowledgable staff, great ambience, but it was a bit steep for the portions. I don't mind spending a ton of dough if I leave full, but I had to get a Krispy Kreme from the liquor store across the street for desert. The food was good, I had the pearl pasta in a nice light sauce, and my girlfriend had the seabass, but I don;t feel we got a value. The spinach salad is excellent and the antipasto plate was delicious, but I left feeling a bit light in the stomach and the wallet. Great wine selection ... read more
Nothing special – The food tasted good, but they offered nothing out of the ordinary, and not enough dishes on the menu. Granted I have only eaten there once, but I just wasn't inspired to return. The barren walls and minimal decor makes for a loud, cavernous atmosphere. If you do check it out, ask for a reservation in the quiet, cozy room in the back. It's closer to the toilets, but seemed like a much better place to be seated. Oh, and the service was sloth-like.
Fabulous! – Incanto is marvelous! The food is fresh and imaginative. The owner, Mark, treats ever diner as though they were guests in his own home at one of his famous Pasta Fests. The ambiance is warm and inviting - a perfect place for that first date or a family celebration. Don't miss it.
Impressed at Incanto – Soon to be a hot spot get some now while it's still easy! Sat in the back room against the wall of wines. Small but well executed menu. Each dish was well thought out and prepared with top notch fresh ingredients. A couple of the highlights were sauteed porcini's with arugula, tuna and swordfish bruschetta, grilled ribeye with crashed potatoes and sauteed greens, and an outstanding cheese plate with cured grapes and walnuts. Service was non intrusive but professional and the ambience is elegant but com... read more
A rising star! – What a change! From the outdated Speckmann's to Incanto, a breath of fresh air. This restaurant has a great atmosphere, great service, great food, and great wines. We ordered a very nice bottle of Brunello and the Sommelier performed a decanting ritual we've seen only in Italy. It felt like home agan.
What a delight!! – We had such a wonderful experience dining in this new restaurant. The executive chef (rumor has it that he was trained at Chez Panisse and opened Square One with Joyce Goldstein) offers dishes that are as exquisite as the decor. The wines are extremely reasonably priced and their Italian sommelier gives excellent food and wine pairing suggestions. I would recommend this place to all foodies. A tip for those who want a more intimate quiet setting, ask for the Dante Room.
Disenchanted with Incanto – This restaraunt is a sad case. The work that went into creating a great atmosphere sure isn't the same work that went into creating the menu and the food. The restaurant offers very few dishes, and those that it does offer are done poorly. The service was slow and the food was just plain bad and poorly thought out. I had the spaghetti which was not al dente, but actually not completely cooked, and the other two people that I was with had the chicken and the pork osso buco. The meat dishes were inc... read more
