Dealer was unwilling to negotiate on price, instead playing the "shell game" of numbers with the trade and the vehicle we were looking at purchasing while trying to negotiate a deal. The salesperson was very friendly and helpful but was not able to close a satisfactory deal between the buyer and seller.

I went to see the truck and I drove the truck. The truck was what I wanted but I had others that I had to look at to make it fair to me. We did all the negotiating and came up with what I thought was a good deal. Keep in mind that the truck has been on CarGurus for 108 days (3.5 months). I left the dealership with the understanding that if they could sell the truck sell it but hold the price for 24 hrs. Well guess what they sold the truck right after I left. High pressure, Salesman "Moe" added $1000 to price and said "No dealer assist with trade-in" because i was paying cash. The vehicle shown was a beat to hell work vehicle with high mileage for 1 year old. Salesman had no knowledge about the vehicle. I told him I had another vehicle to test drive that day and i would let him know if i was interested after that. He told me not to bother it would be gone.
Called from Connecticut and spoke to salesperson that evening before and told them I was coming from Connecticut the next day to look at Tahoe, upon arrival all the salespeople were hovering outside and inside for the next big fish. Spoke to the gentleman at the front desk that I was there to see ..... he was off that day and what was I there for I told him who I spoke to and confirmed it was still available and that it was. It was sold the previous day and was being prepared for the customer.
Typical bait and switch. They hide the "after all applicable incentives" under a tiny disclosure link. We went there hoping the Camaro they listed was $21K and monthly payments around $350. The car was $28K (plus fees and taxes) and monthly payments would have been around $500/month. They were hesitant to let us know about the possible payment structure unless we sat down with the finance department.
