Driven away by poor service – I was given a dinner at Il Posto for Christmas, in preparation of a trip to Italy - what a complete disappointment! For those looking to eat at this restaurant, be warned - reservations (even made a month in advance) mean the time from which you can expect to wait another hour for a table. Absolutely awful! – I was forced to give a rating but really wanted to rate this place with zero stars. Please, save your money if you're planning on a dinner at Il Posto. I'd read reviews of this place and thought we couldn't go wrong. Simply WOW! – Not sure why anyone would ever give this place a bad review. It has to be one of the best places in all of Colorado. The food was the real type of Italian that one would find in rural Italy - not the Americanized spaghetti-type of red sauce and pasta. This place is the real deal! The WORST restaurant in Denver – This is the second time I have been to the restaurant and it will be the last. In this day and age how can a restaurant can survive when it treats its customers so terribly is beyond me. If you expect service form this establishment you should avoid it at all costs. Awesome lunch at Il Posto! – I've been to Il Posto for dinner and its always a treat, but lunch! I started with the Calamari ripieni which is Stuffed calamari that was out of this world good. My meal was Pappardelle salsiccia a homemade pappardelle, marjoram sausage ragu and mushrooms. This was mouth watering deliciousness! I washed it down with 2 Peroni's and had a most satisfying lunch! I'm glad Il Posto is now open for lunch.
Mixed messages – A group of us went to Il Posto for a special occasion and chose the tasting menu. The salad was uninspired except for the sand it was full of. We mentioned this to the manager who came to the table to apologize but offered nothing in the way of compensation or replacement. The risotto was good as the next course but nothing spectacular. Overated food, rude staff, noisy and uncomfortable – We had reservations for 7. We arrived at 7 and we told to go down to the bar 2 doors down. we were seated at 7:45. NO apologies from anyone. Denver's Best – I read MetroMix's review on Il Posto that this place really could be Denver's best so I thought I'd give it a try. I was not disappointed - the food was absolutely fabulous. You could not drag me back here for free food. Horrible treatment! – The only reason I gave it 1 star is because I can't rate it 0 stars. We had a reservation for 6 on Valentine's day. My good friend, who goes there frequently, was never informed of the special menu and price for that night. This alone is insulting.
