We had an incredible day at Hunter Mountain. It's always a given that when we visit Bill's family, one day has to be a Hunter Mountain day. One day we were going snow tubing for just one ride. Bill got half day tickets. The day just flew by. The last time we went to go ziplining. We couldn't afford it but Clay Akin would have been in our group. Great mountain to board and the town is excellent for spending the weekend
It was my families first and last experience to Hunter Mountain. The staff are rude and expect you to know what to do and where to go. My kids, my husband and I paid for lessons and rentals. The lines were absolutely ridiculous. No one to help or give you right directions. If you want to be in time for lessons allow yourself at least 3 hours ahead, otherwise between filling up forms, getting through the crew to picking up rentals, getting fit it and finding the right place to go. We've come to Hunter for quite some time, but had a few year break. We were there this weekend so our little ones can take a group class and we were very happy! they get a "report card" after the class so we know what to still work on and what's been accomplished. This is the only place that did this (and we've been to two other places before). We are definitely coming back. The only drawback is that it was packed! Fantastic east coast coditions. Since new management the food has decreased in quality. Just saying.
I love Hunter Mountain. Crazy winds closed much of the mountain when me and my son used a lift ticket gift during the Holiday week. And Hunter gave us a replacement pass as part of their Snow Guarantee!! Yesterday we drove back up from NJ and had an amazing day. 15 runs on great snow. 21 miles, 21,000 vertical feet skied. Everyone is friendly and helpful. As the closest big mountain to my home Hunter works hard to give us the snow we need. Ride hard at Hunter and you can Ride anywhere.
