Horrible, I found a cat that had just given birth to 4 kittens, she also had a injury in the process. I took her here for help and was given the cold shoulder and told there was nothing they could do. This place relies on donations and is set up for just this sort of issue. Most people are not equipped to handle these this at home so when the groups set up for it tell you to go away, what are you supposed to do?
I recently adopted wilbur from here and i couldn't be happier! The staff was very welcoming and showed a lot of compassion for all of the animals! I love wilbur and I'm thankful to have him in my life!
We've adopted two dogs from Hammond Animal control and they are fabulous people and we have two dogs. One who was returned twice. I've never seen an animal so defeated. I don't know what the other people did to him but now he's a sixty two pound lap dog who is a lil liver. He and the one cat snuggle all the time. At the Cal humane society we went in for a car. The Humane Society Calumet Area is the best place to volunteer at, because every one there just love all the animals and do what they can to keep them well and happy..

My boyfriend and I adopted our cat when she was 4 months old. Now our Cleo is a little over a year. She's the best decision we've ever made! I would come back here in a heartbeat. Staff was great and animals are well taken care of!
