I come here every time I stay in Gulf Shores. The walk is very relaxing and scenic. I can feel the stress melting away! Also a great trail to burn calories, just watch out for the bikers. Hooray! They have installed a bathroom and water fountain about a half mile in on the trail. It is now working!

Business response:

Thanks Chloe Cromer for sharing your love of the Backcountry Trail! We enjoy hearing from our Trail Fans!

This is one of the best bike trails I have ever been on. The scenery, wildlife and quality of the trails is the best! Lots of riding. Over a weeks time we put about 90 miles on our bikes and even though we did most of the trails twice we never tired of them! Enjoy! Lots of places to stop and rest, picnic, and plenty of bathroom facilities. Excellent quality surface too!

Business response:

Thank you Lisa Martin for the wonderful review!!!

It's a great series of trails but the three speed bumps make them inaccessible to wheelchairs...too bad that the porch and swing area and main bathroom are now not accessible from the Orange Beach Cat Man Road parking area for folks in wheelchairs.

My family and I have spent countless hours biking the trails for the past 5 years. A really great way to spend family time and "get back with nature"... At the beach! We've seen Leftie the gator and her babies grow up along with numerous other wildlife including snakes, various lizards, rabbits, armadillos, lizards, and a baby bobcat (no, it's not a lost kitten :-)

Beautiful paved trail perfect for running/walking/biking. My kids loved seeing the alligator about 1.25 miles in. Highly recommend!

Walking the trail in the early morning hours is so peaceful and it is not too busy. I love the sound of the trees singing in the wind and the birds flying over our heads. The blacktop walk is so easy for my husband and I as we both had knee surgeries in the past year. Thank you for maintaining such a beautiful park.
