I am not happy about the practices of H&R Block. I paid a nice sum of money to have my taxes electronically filed with the company but the taxes were never filed. I am now being told that I have to manually send in my taxes based on an error from H&R block. I have been waiting for more than 6 months for information on my taxes to be filed. The taxes were rejected and H&R block never reached out to me saying that my taxes were rejected or why they were rejected. While sitting in reception area overheard an associate conversing with a client. He was speaking his opinions unabashedly about former President Trump, and not at a level within his work space. I was disturbed by what I heard and wasn't comfortable with the situation based on the racial, discriminative comments of former President Trump during the past four years. I had the Port Townsend, WA, office do our taxes last year for 2019 in an attempt to lower our costs. The CPA who had been doing our taxes for several years kept raising her rates. Kim G*****, a "Senior Tax Analyst" did our taxes and all seemed well even though we ended up having to pay $84 in additional taxes when we historically receive a refund. Run! Run as fast as you can! My husband and I paid $400 to get our taxes done here in Winston-Salem, NC. They charged us almost $400. However, since getting our taxes done ... We've had additional questions and our tax preparer has REFUSED to return phonecalls, etc. Mind you, we paid her and we can't even get a simple phone call back? I contacted support about an issue with the software preventing me from filing my taxes and was met with an unapologetic and unhelpful representative who ultimately routed my to a different number which auto disconnected after she refused to provide me with a case # or any other information to identify any history of our interaction. I switched many years ago from TurboTax to H&R Block tax software because I felt that they handled a particular issue related to inheritance better. However, I have been very disappointed with their software for 2020 federal taxes. The software recognized my 2019 return and automatically transferred my 2019 overpayment to the 2020 return.. Horrible experience. My taxes were rejected over 5 times for something so simple. I didnt realize that HR Block has me under 2 different accounts. There are taxes for all prior years except 2019. I even thought, for a moment, that I hadnt filed my 2019 taxes. It took me an entire day to figure out that I have 2 different user names so all taxes were filed under one user name and 2019 was under another one. I attempted to file my taxes with H & R block in Wisconsin Rapids last year. The first time, the accountant did it incorrectly by adding alimony I pay my ex as income to me. Then, she amended the taxes and still did them wrong. I ended up paying in over $5,000 when I should have been refunded $1,800. They do not stand true to their promise that they are 100% accurate and that you will be 100% satisfied. I complained to them and requested a refund of the $228.00 I paid them to do my taxes. Do not go to the H&R Block in Princeton Indiana!!! Sandra, the owner is the most rude person I have ever encountered. They made a mistake on my $15,000 tax return and since they received their money, they refused to help correct it. (Before you judge, Im a foster parent of several that works all year.)
