I had a very horrible experience with a H&R Block Tax Rep at the Pittsburgh location: *** * ********* *** *********** ** *****. I'm new at filing taxes and I disclosed that, so I told them I had a few questions. I was giving a short backstory on a recent notice I got in the mail from the IRS and what specific question I had. We were working for over an hour entering all our information on the H and R Block web portal on the premise it was a free service. All the time the page displayed the big header "my Free taxes.." , only to want to charge me at the and 69.99 with a $35 discount, total $34.99. This is deception. They are expecting that people at the end, after doing all the work, will pay the amount since they are getting a return.

This company can't be trusted. To begin with last year's tax filing for 2018 with H & R Block was a total nightmare. If you are earning less than enough to provide for yourself and are struggling to make ends meet, Do NOT go to H & R Block! They advertise percentages off for first time customers and will still rip you off. Incompetent, rude, and unprofessional. Have used H&R for 6 years and have always loved their service until my husband and I moved and used the Mukwonago, WI location. We decided not to return last year after overhearing unprofessional and frankly racist remarks by an employee while we waited for our tax preparer. We sat in disbelief as she mumbled about the lack of cleanliness and odor of "Mexicans" after a Hispanic couple had left as she sprayed her entire cubicle down with cleaner. I worked for an amazing company. My boss was the worst at being professional, due to having to much work on her mentally. The customers are amazing and have been with H&R Block for years, and will help you even to ensure your job is amazingly accurate... I loved the customer service in which I was able to distrubute while in your own space of work and assiting the Tax Pros as well when it was Peak Season. your legal issue. H and r block has been taking money out of my account for the year 2019 $310 when I've filed online for free. They wont give it back and is claiming I owe money. I still haven't received my 2017 that I paid for service upfront out of my pocket to be filed. The Irs has denied them my refund this year for the 2017 refund due to my h and r tax preparer. I applied for an emerald card because I thought I would get an advanced that was a lie, after I finally received it I called to cancel my card and have them send me a check with the remaining funds still waiting over 3 weeks I called they could not help me because I didn’t have my card on hand but yet gathered all my information and couldn’t tell me anything about the check if it was mailed if it was sent back nothing because I didn’t have the card in hand to give them an expiration date!
