I just wanted to do my taxes and had racial remarks about my native heritage tossed at me by an employee. I don't have a job, and most of my taxable income comes from the tribe, so the lady helping me had no idea what to put down for my occupation and neither did I. So she calls her manager over and explains the situation to get some imput, and the manager just goes "Oh! Just write woowoo!" Found out a year after paying for the premium online filing service that my taxes were never actually filed. My online account, my taxes files, everything I am able to see shows that they were efiled, and yet it was my fault for not knowing to look for a confirmation email to know that they silently did nothing with my tax forms. Spent hours on hold and on the phone with customer service who were unhelpful and would transfer me or simply end the call. My husband made an appointment with them and he had to leave work early we had to get someone to get our kids off the bus for us so we could get to our appointment time. Which we came at least five minutes early. We sat in the office waiting for over 30 minutes still waiting to get seen before we had to leave because we had other things we had to do. The lady who we made the appointment with was the ONLY person working and was still working with other customers before we just had to leave. We make appointments for a reason. ... read more

I work for a hotel. A customer of mine tried to used the H & R Block Emerald card to pay for their stay. At check out on Sunday, their funds were missing. They showed me text messages from the app, saying that the money had been paid to us, but it hadn't. I spent two hours on the phone with the Emerald Card customer service, along with the guest. My first experience with this company is nothing short of a nightmare. I bought a house in the state of New Hampshire last year and when I trIed to file my taxes on my own I didn’t know that I could file in Massachusetts income tax return.
