Overall, our stay at the hotel was fine. The problem occurred when the entire hotel lost power and we had to leave in the dark. While packing without lights, I missed my Bandalino leather knee high boots that the housekeeping staff must have liked. I called the staff once I realized I left my boots there, but they apparently have no record of finding the boots. Somebody is lying and now I am out a beautiful $200 pair of leather boots!
They really are the best in the area. Their rooms are affordable and surprisingly cheap. I love the services that come with the rent as well.
I've been to the Driftwood Room on several occasions, but last night was the worst restaurant experience I've had in many years. It was our first visit there in over a year, and clearly much has changed. My wife and I decided to go here because we were both craving a burger and, until last night, the burgers at the Driftwood Room were among the best in town. We arrived shortly after happy hour, and the bar was starting to empty. Our waitress sat us down and took our drink order. This is when things started to go badly. 15 mi... read more
great little place to unwind after a hard day at work
Great stay for a day. I really admire the artistic style.
Disappointed :( – I planned a surprise overnight stay for my husband's birthday in January 2012. The website looked fun, and I purchased the Valentine's Special to add to our special evening. Don't get me wrong, it's a pretty place and has a neat vibe when you first walk in. However, overall I was pretty disappointed in our experience for the amount I paid. The flower petals were fake (which I could have purchased myself) and the candles were cheap-looking and battery operated. Upon arriving in our room, we opened a cabinet ... read more
Loved the food ar the restaurant – My husband and I stayed at this hotel before our flight to Chicago. The capreses salad was better at this hotel than any we had in Chicago! And the whole meal was the same. Chef Danny came out to make sure we enjoyed our meal. The hotel could improve on the comfort of the beds but other than that it was a nice stay.
A step back in time – I love the Driftwood Room at Hotel Deluxe. It has has that old Vegas feel. I expect the Rat Pack to step in any moment. If you want THE BEST Manhattan you have ever had, go to the Driftwood. It has that great bourbon/cherry flavor and I guarantee you best be prepared to have more than one. They are phenomenal.
Best Speakeasy! – A truly amazing experience. The art of the lounge with a wisp of the Speakeasy the "mood". Speaking of "Moods" this is what you request if you want a custom blended libation. Give your mixologist your taste, and they will give your a concoction along with an outline of each of the boutique libations offered in this amazing den. Located in the Hotel Deluxe, downtown. A must experience.
