People that work here are really nice. In the 809 room you can have a shower watching a bit of the city movement by the window.

Decent hotel if you plan on only sleeping there. No air conditioning, so if it's a hot streak like it was with us, you're screwed. Hotel staff, however, is top notch! Very helpful and friendly.

Great hotel, although walls are a bit thin and I could hear the guy next door coughing up a lung!

Hotel Carlton Myself and a friend stayed at The Carlton for 2 nights in mid- December 08, and after a long flight from London, we were of course very tired. We found the hotel after a walk from Powell St BART station, if you have luggage, i suggest a taxi, but otherwise, its quite a pleasant walk, and considering you are in SF, its not too steep! The hotel staff were more than welcoming and provided us with a free map of the city and offered an array of excursions and the like. The location of the hotel is superb, just a 15min walk to Union Square, and not once did we feel unsafe in the area. The standard of the rooms was also superb, cleaned everyday and decent views of the city. Only negative was the lack of a minibar (which seemed to be something we never experienced during our visit to the states). I'd recommend this to anyone i know, and on my next trip to San Fran, shall definitely be booking a stay at The Carlton!
