I've been going to Holy Frijoles since I was a kid. This place is my favorite place on the Avenue. The food is always fresh and delicious. Now it is even more family friendly with the pinball in the back. So many places on the Avenue are stuffy nowadays. Holy frijoles has something for everyone!!
Gotta agree with Nina. Don't go. Ordered carry-out today. Was told 10 minutes. Waited 35. When I got back to the car, the meter maid was placing a parking ticket under my windshield wiper. Food was $80 (for 7), parking ticket $32. A very pricey, mediocre lunch, Plus a free extra large side of bitterness.
Great bar, friendly service, excellent pinball collection!! New redesign seems to have opened things up. Same relatively bland food. It's passable most times but, with a bevy of better options on the avenue, you could do better. That said, I really like the bar and my son loves the pinball so, I will continue to patronize!
