we have gone to the hobnob multiple times and always had an enjoyable experience until last night. it started off with taking over a half hour just to get a glass of water and never to be refilled even though I asked multiple times for more water. my husband ordered a beer at the same time as someone else at our table ordered a mix drink. she delivered the drink but it was about a half hour later she finally brought the beer. My husband and I received a gift certificate for Christmas and thought we would wait until our anniversary to use it. Actually I should back up and say that the certificate was bought and paid for but, not delivered to us. The purchaser had to call them and they claimed it had been delivered and signed for when in fact, a signature is not required when receiving it though the mail. After having driven past Hobnob for over a decade (without stopping in), we finally decided to give it a shot for dinner. It was the evening before Xmas eve day, and so the place was nicely decorated for the holiday. Our table was not ready right away, so we had drinks at the bar first. My impression is that this establishment caters to an older crowd who are willing to spend an obscene amount of money on what is no greater than generic buffet food. To start our friday night we ordered their Garlic bread with Gorgonzola sauce: it was nothing more than a loaf of bread half dipped. the lack of a crispy garlic bread made the sauce soak through almost immediately, leaving us with something resembling the texture of bread left in water. i just experienced THE BEST above and beyond customer service. We took my parents out for NYE dinner. Love the food and the timing. So many places miss on the timing, not here...they are on point.
