This was my first visit there, and the staff is great, very welcoming, friendly, and professional. Dr. Niswonger was great, very knowledgeable and friendly. They have a comfortable environment, which really helps. I have decided to do my yearly exams here and any other eye care that I may need. I will definitely recommend them to family and friends.
RecommendedDr. Quackenbush's examinations are very thorough. He explains everything and always answers my questions without hesitation. He is warm and friendly and seems to really care about his patients. Their glasses were rather expensive, but the glasses I bought were both very sturdy and the Rx was spot on.
I went there to check out their frames since they are in network for my insurance. They had a poor selection so I left. Before I got to my car a staff member came out wanted my name and when I asked why she said that since I was in there looking at glasses they had a missing pair!! I have never been accused of theft and was shocked at the demeanor of the staff member toward me (66 year old retired teacher). Needless to say I would not recommend this facility!!!
Great experience at Hixson EyeCare. Dr. Michael Quackenbush is very patient and thorough. I entrust my vision care to Hixson Eye Care!

Having been a patient at Dr. Rhodes office for decades, I have always been impressed by the quality of care and concern displayed by Dr. Rhodes, his staff, and Dr. Quackenbush. They are on top of everything- from your exam to your insurance! Everyone in my whole family is a patient of Dr. Rhodes, and we can't imagine going anywhere except Hixson Eye Care.
Would you feel safe on this ramp? I even called ahead to ask if they were wheelchair accessible. Even with my husband here to help, I felt scared to be on this teetertotter. I screamed several times because we almost fell and the staff didn't try to help. They just said"oh, is it not effective?". No, and it's not legal or ethical. Never again!
