Consistent great fresh satisfying American comfort food! and cozy ambience. – On a rainy or cold day, there is nothing more reliable than a cozy satisfying meal at Houstons with some friends. Share some spinach dip, have a gigantic glass of wine.... So Pricey Yet So Worth It – As much as I hate to admit it, this pricey location of the famous Houston's chain is a great place to visit for drinks and for food. The prices alone are overly expensive but man they sure do crank out some very quality food.
Great Food, Great Drinks – The wait was long but we came without reservations. Bartenders were helpful and attentive. Drinks were pricey but the French Martini is now one of my favorite cocktails. We spent $60 for drinks and one appetizer before we even sat down for dinner. Once seated, we had a great waitress (Melissa) and the food was super.
Reliably Excellent – I have been here many times. The service at the bar, and at the tables, is excellent. The food is consistantly delicious from the burgers to the salads, the drinks expertly mixed. They really get it right - have a relatively limited menu and make sure everything on there is top notch. It makes a real difference. I am a dessert fanatic and have yet to find a better brownie a la mode, although if you don't like nuts in your brownie forget it. It raises comfort food to a whole new level.
Great place for an after-work drink and bite to eat – Houston's is a chain but a very well-run chain. Service is consistently good and the food is always solid. Try the cheese-bread. It's not on the menu, but it's delicious!
awsome american restaurant – trendy, restaurant. awsome food. they make everything from scratch including their breads. They are known for their chilli only avail on fri or sat. anything on the menu is good. my favorites are sashimi tuna salad (not on menu), thai steak salad, burger, grilled fish, brown rice and black beans, key lime pie and the sundae are a must
So-So-food and not really worth the price! – I've been to Houston's several times. I can't figure out why this place is so popular when the food is so-so and not really worth the price. You might as well go to Smith & Wollensky's for a few extra bucks if you want a really good steak. The spinach appetizer is good but you can get the same dip at TGIF...big deal! The wine menu also needs some improvement.
The Grownup/Sophisticated Fast Food Choice – Houston's is comfortable and lush with it's plush couch seating and dark-panelled wood. The menu is somewhat limited at burgers, sandwiches and steaks but, somehow it's still a steady favorite of mine. For a nice, no muss, no fuss, no attitude dinner in a nice (if slightly executiveish) setting, Houston's is a great choice. It's so much better than being packed in say..... L'Express. Greatest steak – Steak is my favorite. And this place is my favorite place start from NOW. I have ate steak around New York as Ruth Christ, Pastis, Haru, Outback and any place. But their steak is unbeliavable, is soo tasty. Added with Live Jazz, romantic place, it is supposed to be the best in new york. Great, the waiter have great service.
