I rented a car from Hertz at the Atlanta Hartsfield Airport. Upon arriving to my destination some 90 minutes away, I get out and realize the right front 1/4 panel of the car is falling off!! It has some sort of glue in the areas where it has broken loose. I spent well over an hour on hold with "EMERGENCY roadside assistance." The worst company to rent a vehicle from. The car was t ready, the car was not clean, the car smelled of marijuana.
Limb fell and shattered my sunroof during a storm. The entire headliner was soaked and my car guy said it would take 2-3 weeks to fix, the entire roof/top would have to be replaced. Made the mistake of contacting Hertz. First two people I spoke to at the call center were incredibly rude. One of whom huffed and puffed through the whole call, obviously inconvenienced by having to do her job/make an appointment. We were given a set charge for our car rental. However, we were charged a second time with a higher amount and no reason as to why our amount increased. I called customer service- Raiatea- and was told we'd get our money back within 5-7 business days. It has passed 7 business days and I am not getting a response back from her. She told me to email her if I had any problems. I have emailed her twice with no response. It has been a frustrating experience.
My rental wouldn't start this morning and I have spent the ENTIRE day trying to get a replacement. I sat on hold for 1 hour and 15 mins, the first time I called. They sent fme a link for a Lyft to pickup a replacement rental, but there were no drivers in the area and the link went dead. I have been trying to get back in touch with someone now for over 3 hours. The worst company ever. We rented a car and prepaid. (Our mistake). They did not have the car. They gave us a smaller car and billed us the same amount. I called them and they would not fix the problem. So this multi billion dollar company is stealing hundreds of dollars from us. They admit the error and they are not going to fix the problem. Boy, how times have changed at Hertz. I've been a Gold member for years, and just returned a suburban and had a disappointing experience with the product. Below is the survey information I submitted back to Hertz if your interested. I would suggest going elsewhere. We booked a car almost 2 weeks in advance. The day before we received a confirmation from Hertz of our booking. But the day of (3 hours before), they called us saying that they did not have a car available for us. This left us stranded in a city we are not from with no car and our hotel was 3 hours away. Prices for rentals were at least triple they were when we originally booked.
