We waited over an hour in line to pick up the car. Once we got to the counter they told us they gave our car away, even though we already paid for it.. They put a $2,500 hold on my credit card. Now i have been charged twice and am having to dispute the charge with my credit card company. Terrible company.
100% DON'T RECOMMEND HERTZ! My experience with Hertz was terrible at multiple levels. 
 First: I rented a small commercial van from the Hertz Niemen Road in Shawnee, KS location to move my son to Texas. I prepaid the contract online to save a little bit of money. (FORESHADOWING HERE...BIG MISTAKE). 
 The contract stated that it would be ready and available on Thursday, April 15th at 1:00. When I arrived to pick it up, I was told that they didn't have one available.

We made a reservation to ensure that a car was available at Detroit Wayne Airport the day and time that we needed the car well ion advance of our trip. We paid in full in advance and upon arrival were told that we would not be able to gat a car unless we had a major credit card. This policy went in place since the last time that we had traveled (blame COVID). The people at Hertz were awful to us. They were rude and uncaring to our plight. Dallas-Fort Worth Hertz customer service was terrible. Long line ... over an hour wait ... only 2 staff available and or would leave frequently. There were other staff walking around but did not help. Never again will they have my business.
I was denied the use of a rental car due to my credit rating after already having paid for the car online. Not only had I used an Uber to get there due to my car being in the shop but now I was stranded there and they had $140 of my money. The agent at the store was snippy and flippant. I was told I would have to call customer service to get a refund, which I did. I was given a case number and told that I would have my refund in 7-10 business days. Customers make reservations to ensure that a car is available at the day and time that they need a car. We had reservations in advance guaranteed with a credit card and were told that we would have a car in one hour. It took over 3 hours in the airport to get any kind of vehicle. The entire trip was planned for an event that we missed because of this delay. If the agent had told us the truth, we would have found an alternative means of transportation. I would give Hertz a 0 start. Customer service is horrible with music blasting in their background when talking to them to start. Back to our main issue, we booked a reservation for April 15, 12:00 PM - April 17, 11:00 PM. We picked the car up at 1:45 PM due to delays at the airport and returned the car at 4:54 PM. So since we did not pick the car up within 29 minutes of the reservation Hertz changed the price and is charging us more. First, let me say that I am a member of a loyalty program for a different (and better) rental car company. Due to accepting a new job, coordinating the rental car was done by my new employer's travel office, which required that I rent the car from Hertz for my "house hunting trip" in Chicago, IL, which was rented from the Hertz location at the Chicago O'Hare Airport. The worst customer service ever. Booked with them for HI trip, canceled and was billed a $100 cancellation fee after saying I would not be charged. Called them and a heavily accented person said the fee can't be changed. They do not support good business practices. They are not AAA rated. They are clearly not an American company. I'll never use them again.
