Hertz continues to demonstrate a lack of integrity and unethical business practices, preying on people by using the Covid-19 safety practices during this pandemic as a way to cheat the people they are in business to serve. I rented a truck from the Joplin Missouri location from a man named Corey ****** I had to change my location of return because of business reasons. I called in and told hertz that I would be returning the vehicle there and they said that was okay. Awful customer service! I reserved a minivan for April 24-26. I received a reminder about my rental on April 22. When I arrived to pick the vehicle up the business was close. Why wasn't I notified? I called the 800 number and they said that the business should be open. There was a sign on the door stating they were temporarily close. After being advised that flying was not an option, I rented a car from Hertz in Lakeville, MN through the USAA portal on 3/26/21 in order to get to a clinical study at a hospital in Chicago. At the time of pickup in MN the rental agreement was gone over and pictures were taken of the car outside. The car itself was not acceptable, there were two cracks in the windshield, it smelled of smoke, and it also had brown stains on the ceiling panels above the passenger side door. WILL NEVER BE BOOKING WITH HERTZ AGAIN. Made a reservation for car in Kansas City. When we get there they were closed. Come to find out they closed at 8:00 an hour before our flight landed. Few other people were there in the same situation. Ended up canceling and had someone pick us up from a hour away. Was very inconvenient.
I rented a car at the Maui airport. The outside panel on the drivers side window literally fell off when I was driving down the road. I secured it and returned the car to Hertz. I was informed that it was my responsibility to pay for the repair. This was a structural issue with the car that was potentially covered up by the "Covid cleaning" sticker used on the door. These issues should be treated differently than the strong arm tactics employed by Hertz.
Folks BEWARE! This is a Public Service Announcement regarding Hertz Rental Car! Hertz I traveled to Grand Rapids, MI last week for a funeral. I rented a car at the Airport location on Thursday, April 15th and returned it on Sunday, April 18th. If I could give hertz zero stars I would. Rented a car and was immediately charged almost $400. When I got to the pickup site I was told that they did not accept my ATM/Visa because it was not a major credit card. It was major enough to be charged the second I rented it but not good enough at pickup. Okay, I get it. You have your rules. I asked how long it would take for my money to be refunded. This location is so bad, I have rented the car from them 4/6/21- 4/10/21 that mean I have the car or renting them for 4 days and on the 10 is on the Saturday that they close at 4 pm and I drop off the keys in the box and strain to the airport fly back home, (this location closes on Saturday and Sunday) and on Monday 4/12/21 I got the receipt from hertz and charge me for 6 days 4/6/21 -4/12/21 and I'm in shock, how that happen?
