The Huntington VA Medical Center was awesome this weekend taking care of my husband. I am pretty sure that they saved his life. Fri. morning he had eye surgery,which went fine. He stopped on the way out of the hospital to get blood work. By the time we drove home,his doctors office was calling us to tell him to get back to the ER. He asked if he could wait til Saturday and she said no because he could have a stroke or heart attack..His lab work was all messed up.They took him right in through the ER and started working on hi... read more

I have always received excellent care at the Huntington VAMC.
Always appreciate the people working on my father & the other veterans but 5 hours in the waiting room is absolutely outrageous. And this was only the most recent visit. Before, when my father couldn't sit due to severe hip pain, he stood for 4 hours in the waiting room crying before his hip replacement surgery had been performed. I witnessed many veterans waiting long hours. I can wait 5 hrs at a general hospital but these are our veterans, WV. I don't blame the hospital. We need more coverage.
I was treated outstanding by the pre op and same day surgery staff and hearing the Pledge of Allegiance before my surgery was great!
Went to ER with my husband on 10-06-16 to try and figure out why he's had a constant headache for the last 2 weeks following an epidural injection. No chairs in the rooms, they let me sit on the dirty floor of an ER hospital room, hard telling the germs, never once asked if they could bring in a chair. Their policy is NO chairs for patients families. I could understand if there was no room but this was a large private room. I wish I could post a picture. Very ashamed of how they treat people.
I think it is an amazing facility!!!! They have treated my father with the utmost respect!
