This office is incompetent, Dr. Gonchigar is distant and rude, and speaking to a live person is nigh impossible. I found Dr. Gonchigar to be condescending and to brush aside my concerns about medications, including not fully explaining the side effects of some drugs until after I was taking them. The billing office is byzantine and incompetent too. I changed insurance at the start of the new year and updated it in the way that their forms indicated, by sending in the information to their office via email. I've now sent this ... read more

While I was filling out forms, I observed Dr. Gonchigar's greeting other patients. I was pleasantly surprised to see the compassion and pleasantness exude from a human being. It's a small office practice and very busy but one does not feel rush talking to her and that she really cares. I was late, missed my appointment and suggested that I reschedule with the understanding I would be charged for a no-show, which was understandable but she was able to rearrange her schedule to see me the same morning.

Sought treatment for daughter (high school age) who exhibited symptoms consistent w depression that were affecting her energy, motivation, and school attendance. Dr. G was helpful in adding and managing medication safely to he therapy. We found a good balance of sessions between doc and daughter, while also partnering with me(mom) as needed to build my daughter’s coping skills, include my perspective and context, recommend Behavioral changes for my daughter, interacting with her school and within our home.

Judgemental doctor. Does not make accurate prescriptions. Bills 2 years later a large bill because they did not tell you on visits that you are not covered by insurance.

I think the doctor and the nurses are very nice despite all the comments here. Have been going there for about 4 months and we are still on the path to figure out my daughter's problem and try different meds. Dr. Gonchigar is very compassionate and attentive, the nurses were always efficient. I don't know why we never encountered any issues like other reviewers. Maybe because we always come around noon when there are not many patients...We also never wait, they take us in at the moment we come.

Dr. Gonchigar was dishonest with me about potential side effects of my medication (she lied to my face when I asked her about a possible interaction), she was dismissive of my complaints when I was suffering from extreme side effects, and when I disclosed a traumatic event, she called me "stupid" and proceeded to blame me for having been assaulted. Her demeanor appears friendly, but she is inflexible and judgmental.

I saw Dr. for almost a year. She’s definitely not the best and when my insurance changed and I tried to get a prior authorization to see her, she wouldn’t see me because my insurance wouldn’t pay her enough. I understand if I was a new patient but she should have tried to see me since I’m out of meds and I’ve established a relationship with her. Money hungry doctor.

This has been the absolute worst experience I've ever had with a psychiatrist. The doctor does not care about her patients - spends 5 minutes with you, prescribes you meds, and charges you a ton of money. Both her and the secretary and extremely rude and act like they are better than you. Seriously - Stay away!! There are so many good mental health professionals out there. Dr. Gonchigar is not one of them.

Dr. Gonchigar is the absolute worst psychiatrist I have seen (and I have seen many). She clearly does not care about her patients or their well being. The Dr. and her secretary are usually rude and unhelpful.
