My time here particularly in the Intensive Care Unit was deeply distressing and ultimately left me with lasting trauma and symptoms of PTSD. My dad was transferred to Bayonette Point Hospital from his local ED , HCA Oak Hill My dad sustained an extremely severe diffuse axonal injury with irreversible brain stem injury from blunt force trauma subsequent to a fall outside at his home. From the initial presentation in the ED , Trauma team and neurosurgery team no one called me, his listed POA and were giving information to local family that were there at the hospital. This was one of the worst hospitals I have ever been in. Nurses provided terrible patient care. Had me on wrong blood pressure medication for 4 days & wondering why my pressure was high. Ring call bell for pain, water or medication requests proved they were unresponsive or just didn’t care about patients welfare. It’s a trauma hospital with poor quality review. My experience at Bayonet Point Hospital was deeply troubling and, at times, unsafe. From arrival through post-surgery care, there were repeated failures in communication, attentiveness, and basic patient care. Upon arrival, the woman who checked me in told me to “just go to triage” and did not show me where to go. In the ER, after receiving medication about 10 minutes after arrival, the nurse never returned to my room. took my husband there last nite because he fell and busted his head and the lady at the desk ask me if i push my husband down,,,,i did not fine that funny and i compaint about it to another nurse...she try to beliitle me,,,that piss me off and yes i got a lawyer know for a law suit for acussing me of hurting my husband,,,,my husband sitting on end of couch and black out and hit floor and busted his face
Being a mother, I have had my share with ER visits. I have been to this hospital too many times to name; not only for myself, my kids, but my grandparents as well. It has always been a great experience under the circumstances, until last night. I have never in my life seen such a display of incompetence in staff and facilities.
