Had the opportunity to spend several Halloweens at this delightful historic hotel. They pull out all the stops for a memorable night!
This year was our second time staying their.. We have been very happy both times. It's a great location and u can easily walk all of Salem from it.

The Tavern is a good place to try local Salem, Massachusetts cuisine. The Hotel has a beautiful interior with great character. The stories associated with the Hotel are great. Events are also held here on a regular basis. The Pirate show I attended last year on October 3rd of 2015 was great.
We were so sad to leave the Hawthorne Hotel! We travelled from Oxford, Ms and South Louisiana, respectively, and the accommodations and staff of the Hawthorne were top notch. From our bubbly (always informative AND patient with our many tourist-y questions) front desk staff to the friendly, hard-working waitstaff of the Tavern and Nat's (for drinks and meals alike), to the beautiful and historic rooms and view, we will ABSOLUTELY recommended it to any and everyone and hope to stay there again someday!
