It was wonderful. So much in such a small place!! I'm still feeling amazed!!
I visited the Center to specifically see the Gutenberg Bible and I was treated with a very knowledgeable docent on facts about acquisition and other interesting things. Little did I anticipate all the other eclectic pieces from art to film to brilliant educators that shaped our nation and world. To know there is an addition research center on the 2nd floor open to all UT students was another jewel in a crown of treasures on campus.
If you have the opportunity, take a tour with a docent. Our docent Catherine was so knowledgeable and such a good story teller, I just kept asking questions. She really brought the exhibit alive for our group yesterday.
2 words: Gutenberg Bible. That drew me in, and then I also saw an original Handel music manuscript (for a musician and music teacher that is pretty cool). It's free, so you can't lose.
Really hands down the best museum in Austin, from an Auatinite. That said the Ransom has the staff and resources very few libraries or museums have ....UT has done this well, and we the community should frequent it AND any visitors to Austin IT IS A MUST DO
