Cook-your-own Japanese BBQ – Perfect for groups or couples, Gyu-Kaku ensures a fun, tasty evening. Try the prix-fixe meals, such as America's Choice, which comes with miso soup, salad, edamame, veggies, shrimp, chicken, short rib, skirt steak, bibimba and ice cream. Still hungry? Finish the meal with s'mores, which you can cook over the grill at your table. The service is amazing--very attentive, fast and helpful. They also have an extensive list of shochu (like a rice vodka) cocktails and sake.

Fun dining at a reasonable price – Crowded and noisy, but that's part of the fun of this do-it-yourself cooking experience. Order from a large variety of meats and veggies slathered in your choice of flavorful sauces and marinades. Great specials during the week for happy hour (including 99 cent drafts). Make reservations (especially for dinner). Been there a few times and the service varies, but generally it's fast and friendly.

Fun Dining Experience – One of my favorite restaurants in LA. The food is great, but especially since you can cook it to your own liking. My favorites are harami spicy miso, garlic shrimp, assorted veggies and the smores! Service is always great with multiple servers checking in on you frequently. If you can make it during the happy hour, the prices are great....although not as good as when they first opened. A few things were dropped from the menu like the Japanese pickles that I loved, but still a favorite place to go. It ... read more

So Fun, Great Taste!! – I don't know why all the Koreans are saying Korean Town is better. This place is pretty amazing, cooking meat by yourself is fun if you can handle it pretty well, of course you can have the meat as you like, medium, well-done, whatever. That's nice for picky people like me. Service is great and everyone is nice in there, clean and nice atmosphere, Kalbi Soup was simply exquisite! I will go there again and again... If you think it's expensive, take advantage of happy hours.

Great service – I went with two of my friends and had a blast there. The price was ok...it depends on what you choose to order. They have this "do it yourself pancake" - interesting concept. The place itself was fun and the waiter had a great sense of humor...made for a great experience. I'd suggest going in time for their happy hour.

Excellent! – The entire menu is delicious--try the unagi bibimba--and the place is a lot of fun. Great for a date, special occasion or just a regular night out, this location is a little less cramped than the Pico store and has valet parking. Save room for dessert!

good times – This place is really fun.. good for a date or for a party.. basically you do all the cooking. you order different meats with various marinates and then you cook. Everytime I have gone I have had a great time. Good food and good fun. I highly recommend this place...
