Ann Arbor Guitars totally rebuilt my Martin guitar a few year back when some of the ribbing came loose. Just recently they installed a pickup in my guitar and reset the action - all in one day! Their reputation for outstanding and high quality work and excellence proceeds them - we are lucky to have such a fine small business in our community. They add to our culture, economy and quality of life in immeasurable ways. Thank you Ann Arbor Guitars - please keep up the excellent work😊.
I had a great experience with these guys, I brought them a 1960's Gibson guitar that I had purchased a couple of years ago, and I thought it needed quite a bit of work. They were honest with me, and told me the guitar was actually in good shape and set up fairly well, and the only thing they would personally do is a fret re-dress to balance out the neck. I went ahead and had that done, as I wanted this guitar to feel and play perfectly, and I am more than happy with the results, it feels better than ever and sounds great (th... read more
My Martin D-28 needed a tune-up (slight buzzing on the first 2 strings). Plus, I had an inexpensive mandolin that needed a good going over and a proper setup. On both instruments Hess and crew did their usual extraordinary job. The Martin sounds like a million bucks and plays better than ever. And, my little old cheap mandolin plays better than I could have imagined possible. I feel blessed to have such a marvelous resource like Ann Arbor Guitars so close. If they are not the best, they must have at least taught the best !
Dave is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and he went out of his way to make sure I was happy with his work. He was very up-front with me about pricing for services, and the things he recommended (and which were unnecessary) for my guitar. Besides that, he gave me a great price for the services rendered. I was thrilled with the work he did and the result. My guitar plays great! I'll certainly be back in the future.
This is my go-to shop for acoustic guitar repair. No frills, just tons of knowledge, honest information and high quality work. They are always willing to go the extra mile to explain to you what is going on with your instrument. Their prices are very reasonable and I'm blown away by their turn around time. Other shops want to let your guitar collect dust for 2 weeks before they'll touch it. Not here! Highly recommend these guys, you will leave feeling confident your instrument is in the right hands!
I have had 3 guitars repaired at Ann Arbor Guitars. Excellent job, reasonable cost, and timely job. These cats know their business!
I took my Gibson songwriter up to Ann Arbor guitars from Toledo OH. I needed a new nut fashioned and a fret dress. I wanted only the best for my instrument and what I got was THE ABSOLUTE BEST work I've ever had done to my guitar. I met Hesh at 10 am in the shop. He told me to give him 4 hours to complete the job. Took 3 1/2 hours. Could not have been more satisfied with my experience and how well my Gibson plays now. Hesh made me a new bone nut, dressed my frets, a set up and new strings. The man does legendary work. I only... read more
