I can't say enough good things about Ann Arbor guitars. The professionalism and expertise Hesh and David put forth are unparalleled, my only complaint is they aren't closer as I would be in here 24/7 for all kinds of info and fine tuning my guitars into well tuned machines. Their business model is perfect you get what you pay for, experience, knowledge, and the finest craftsmanship.
This was my first experience with Ann Arbor Guitars and it was awesome! I'm a new player and I brought the guys a used Ibanez that needed some TLC. They turned it around super quick and the guitar sounds amazing! Plus, the guys are great. Ann Arbor Guitars is the kind of place where you just want to hang out. I will definitely be visiting again!
Hesh did a setup on my strat. It made a huge improvement in the feel of the guitar, and it fixed the intonation problems. He even cleaned it up cosmetically, too. Its like a whole new guitar! I love it. 12/10. Thanks Hesh!
I called and had them set up my banjo and also add some railroads. It took them less than 24 hours and my banjo honestly plays and sounds better now than the day I bought it. I may have to bump this down to 4 stars because by tomorrow I'll probably have to call into work as I can't stop playing this thing and it's likely to distract me too much from my work, friends and family. Brought in a Martin I had dropped (NEVER trust a strap without hands) with a chunk of the top wood broken off and the sides separating from the body. Dave took a look, gave me a reasonable estimate, and answered all my questions about what to expect. Had to play my acoustic for a few days before I could leave an honest review and now the final verdict is in.... These guys ROCK! My high end Martin developed a crack on the top due to the harsh dryness this Michigan winter has presented. I was worried that even after the repair was made the tonality of the guitar would be altered, however Dave and Hesh somehow brought new life into this beauty, just in time to track for my first Solo Album. These guys are awesome, I walked into the store and they took care of me right then. No waiting for weeks, I'm talking I walked out a half hour later with my guitar repaired. Highly recommend them to anyone that needs guitar work!
Walked through the doors of this place with an instrument which was very unpleasant to play. These guys took their time to explain how they would go about helping my sorrow. Also pointed out a great coffee place where to go while they would do their magic. All this during the same day visit. Did I mention it was the same day!!! Ann Arbor Guitars do the best repair work and setups I've experienced in over 25 years of playing, and do them incredibly quickly! I've referred a number of my friends to AAG, and every one has the same great things to say, and in each case, their expectations were exceeded.
