Dave took a 1933 Kalamazoo that had been sitting in a farmhouse, unplayed, for literally 45 years, and made it the best-sounding guitar I have ever held. It wasn't crazy expensive, and he had it back to me within a short time after explaining everything that needed repair. Perfectly professional experience from start to finish.
If you would like your ax to sound like acoustic ambrosia, you know this is the place for your special stringed baby. I wouldn't trust my electric or acoustic to anyone else. Do yourself a favor and visit them yesterday. You won't regret it.
I highly recommend Ann Arbor Guitars. I was referred to Dave back when I was doing some recording with my band at Big Sky Recording Studio in Ann Arbor many moons ago. Since then I have been taking every guitar repair and set-up need to Dave. I drive from Toledo, Ohio, which isn't convenient, but I know the quality of work they do and don't trust my instruments to anyone else.
Top of their craft, and raved about in the Ann Arbor community and beyond.
I brought Dave an inexpensive round-neck Dobro resonator guitar, where said neck was pulling free of the body after 3 years of use. He fixed it in less time than he estimated, for a reasonable price, and it plays great now. That's two jobs he's done for me since someone recommended him to me, and I'd pass that recommendation on to anyone who's looking for top-quality guitar setup or repair work in the area. Oh, and he came out to one of my gigs!
