The mortgage process through Guild was a breeze - simple. Our problem starts one year later when a storm damages our roof. We contact our insurance company who processes the claim within 48 hours (check in hand) so the roof could be fixed. We found a roofer with excellent references. Because the check is made out to Guild and ourselves, both parties have to endorse it. So we overnight the check to Guild for endorsement....1 week later, we have to call to see what the hold up was. They said it was because we didn't endorse it... read more

Cathy: My name is Brandy and I work for Guild Mortgage. I'm very sorry to hear about the frustrations you've experienced. I would like you to know that what you describe is not the kind of service we seek to offer or the experience we want customers to have. I am following up with our Servicing department to look into this further. Please feel free to contact me directly with questions at *********@guildmortgage.net.
Just wish they were more forgiving and accepting of goodwill adjustments. I made a bank error back in December and it ended up making my payment 30 days late (I'm a single mom and it was around Christmas time and had a million things on my plate...I know, still no excuse). This is the first time I've ever been late and explained what happened to them and they refused to grant me a goodwill adjustment. This totally screwed my credit score and I've been unable to make some recent financial decisions due to that. I mean, I gues... read more

I did not use Guild for my mortgage, but the reason why is the reason for this review. I don't have the best of credit scores, but work on it to bring them up. I know the mortgage business having worked for several mortgage companies in the past. I knew my scores, obtained through the three credit bureaus, were where they needed to be to secure an FHA loan as were my husbands. The credit reporting agency that Guild used to buy my scores was 100 points below my actual scores. My husbands scores were right where the agencies e... read more

2-28-18 This review is for the Guild Mortgage Fort Worth, Tx office on Camp Bowie. This has been a nightmare which caused physical and mental exhaustion. I was referred to them by my Realtor and before going with them I should have read reviews. They asked me for the same documents over and over and over again with each document having the same thing on them. I gave been divorced for about 20 yrs but they needed a divorce decree WHY? One of my credit cards was paid completely off and they needed a payoff statement . I provid... read more
Posting a 1-star having removed a star for every despicable thing Guild Mortgage in San Antonio on Sonterra Blvd. did over the course of our home purchase. Most people will unlikely read this full review, but we cannot refrain from providing a fair account of our recent loan experience (2017). Despite our better judgement after reading national reviews concerning Guild Mortgage, we proceeded with Guild after they 1) reaffirmed us “this office is not like the rest; we have 100% good reviews.” and 2) “we will not sell your loa... read more

Hi *******: My name is Brandy and I work at Guild. I am very sorry to hear about your frustrations. The kind of issues you describe here are not what we seek to deliver at Guild. So far so good. I am still in the underwriting process and we seem to be having difficulties about rather or not I am full time. The difficulties are coming from the underwriters and NOT Guild. I do not understand the difficulties as the underwriters have to look no further than the type of position I have and my pay stubs. Perhaps working with a different underwriter(s) could be there best bet. Nonetheless, Stacy M****** and Amanda M***** have been hard at work for me. They do a fine job at explaining why the need certain d... read more

I recently built a house and was referred to a broker with Guild Mortgage. This process took close to 16 months to complete. As we headed into the home stretch with the same broker our processor went on maternity leave. So after resending all information and discussing with broker and processor I thought we were all on the same page. Well I couldn't have been more wrong. I was completely taken advantage of , uninformed about changes to my loan( showing up to closing to a closing disclosure with an extra 12,000 of unexplained... read more
My husband and I refinanced our home with Guild Mortgage last January. Our loan officer Glen H****** was fabulous!! Glen helped us thorough the process every step of the way- explaining anything we did not understand. He was patient-not pushy when it came to getting certain documents in order to move our file forward. It was a quick and painless process. Even now-he follows up with us every few months to see if we need anything or to provide us with the current value of our home. I really appreciate Glen very much. He is the... read more
