Very Helpful If you ever want an honest opinion on what you should do/or need to do, these guys will give you your options and their recommendations, and then you can decide. This is really great when trying to figure out what and when you need to budget for auto repairs.
Groovy Automotive is NOT HONEST, Jerks! Horrible experience!! I took my Honda Civic to "groovy" to have my timing belt done and not only did they do the work wrong they ruined my engine!!! Ouch! So, I took my Civic back to them too see if they would honor their work and not only did they NOT honor their work, but they wanted more money to fix what they broke!!!! JERKS! Do NOT USE or you will be riding the bus!
K. Wood I have a PT Cruiser. If you have a PT Cruiser GET RID of it. The electronics are a big headache. I took the car to Groovy on North Lamar because of the transmission and they did a great job despite the design flaws of the Cruiser. The transmission computer and wiring were a big headache to the point that they had to send the car to the dealership. Impressive Tuesday morning I woke up to find my brake lines not working! I pumped my brakes and limped my vehicle to the nearest shop, Groovy Auto on Slaughter. I explained that I was a teacher and really needed to know what time frame and price I was looking at. They drove me to work, in Cedar Creek, fixed my car and came to pick me back up. Groovy Automotive is not groovy!!! I took my 85 BMW to groovy (Red River) for a slave cylinder for my clutch and then later for a master cylinder for my brakes. Both of these jobs cost me about $1000. Since then I've had to replace about 5 different hoses in my car and when I took my car to another shop I found out that the line to my clutch pedal wasn't even hooked up. overcharge labor hours always They tried to ask for $8xx and put 5.5 hours' labor on radiator and thermostat job!!! This is not the first time!!! They generally give reasonable quote on parts and double the labor. Finally got the whole radiator system replaced in other places ($400 and 2.5 hours). I only recommend two repair shop in Austin: if you don't have money, go to A-1; if you do and want very nice service, go to flamingo.
