HORRIBLE and DISGUSTING Emergency service after hours, my inlaws had an emergency with their 11 year old dog who suddenly took ill and while on their way with the dog they called from a cell phone and were DENIED help because they did not RECOGNIZE the cell number they were calling from with caller ID..............needless to say the dog passed before they could get help and GI small animal didnt care because of the CALLER ID. if your pet needs EMERGENCY care dont bother because they will DENY treatment if you are NOT a curr... read more
On October 26th 2012 I reluctantly went back to Grand Island Small Animal after trying to get an appointment at another vet I was referred to, boy were my instincts right about this place from 6 months ago which my first and only other visit when I first got my 1 yr. old male Vizsla. The reason for me going back was I suspected he had a Urinary infection based on some behaviors that were out of the ordinary over the last week or two. Heartbroken I brought in my dog who was diagnosed with parvo, my dog had all his shots and he still got this horrible virus. After noticing how weak he got, I took him here with the hope of having not only the best care but with hope that they would save his life. I was able to gather the money needed to have him hospitalized and treat him with ivs. The doctor said it was a 50/50 chance but I prayed he would make it. I would never recommend this hospital. I went to the emergency clinic and after spending 700.00 they could not diagnose my 10 month old puppy. They would not let us come to see our dog. They would not give me a copy of the x-rays I paid 200.00 for so I could send my dog to another vet. They were nasty. I asked for my dog the have pain medicine and according to the bill he was never given any. End result I could not save our family pet. He will be truly missed and we love him so much

Feeling like it was an emergency, I spent a quick half an hour online looking for a place with good reviews that would take emergencies.
