A wonderful place to take your pet I have been doing business with the GI Small Animal Hospital since 1974 and I would not hesitate to recommend the facilities to friends and family. The building is neat, clean, and the people very professional.
Great Place To Take Your Pets I have been to several different Vets in the area and I have always been very happy with the care Grand Island provides. No, they aren't the cheapest in town, but I have great confidence that they will get it right and that the animals will be well taken care of. They have solved issues others vets couldn't figure out. Very Concerned Vets I had to take my cat to Grand Island Animal Hospital as he was having problems breathing. It turned out that he had a tumor and at 17 I could not stand to see him suffering. The vet was so caring and concerned to help me make the decision I felt comfortable with. I have now switched all of my cats to Grand Island because I really trust their judgement and appreciate their concern!!
Highly Recommended I've use GIAH for almost a decade and refuse to use anyone else after a string of very bad experiences. They are great for emergencies, the prices on medicine and service is on par with other vets and I have never had a single problem. When my puppy split his canine tooth up the middle and had to have it surgically removed, they gave me a very detailed estimate, told me what items were optional AND gave me the name of another clinic (which wanted to charge half the price of the surgery estimate just to see... read more
Great Veterinarian With a Caring Staff I too am perplexed by the negative reviews. Around the time we moved into the area our dog suffered from allergies, breathing problems and chronic infections (among other things). Dr. Harper and his staff have help solve all of these problems and are actively participating in preventive care for our dog. Grand Island Small Animal Hospital is THE WORST VET EVER!!!!!!!!!!!! I went to Grand Island Small Animal Hospital and it was the worst visit ever!!! My dog broke her leg and I went there for an emergency visit when my vet was closed. They kept her all weekend and charged me for it too!! Almost 1200 dollars!!!!!!!! They placed a cast too high and 10 days later it almost cut her leg off. Not Something I'd Recommend. This place can actually help you and your pets if you have the money, but if you don't you might as well just go somewhere else. This place has absolutely no compassion for animals and will only help you if you can pay the ridiculously large amount of money for the vet bill.
In General I find it disturbing how sadly misinformed many of these reviews are. There are people here stating that they are studying to be Veterinarians but who lack a basic understanding of the business, laws, regulations, procedures of practice and grammar I might add. Yes, When your pet has an emergency it's expensive, quite a bit more expensive than a regular office visit. This should not surprise anyone. Heartbroken I brought in my dog who was diagnosed with parvo, my dog had all his shots and he still got this horrible virus. After noticing how weak he got, I took him here with the hope of having not only the best care but with hope that they would save his life. I was able to gather the money needed to have him hospitalized and treat him with ivs. The doctor said it was a 50/50 chance but I prayed he would make it.
