Thank you Thank you to the AMAZING doctors, nurses and RT's who treated our baby Violet last week in the PICU with RSV virus. The amount of care and attention we had from everyone was just wonderful. Your nurses are top notch and went above and beyond for us. Have a wonderful holiday season!!!
As always the nurses in the PICU and the pediatric unit were amazing! But I wanted to make special mention of an ER nurse on our first night. His name was Juan and he was hands down the best nurse I've come across in a long time...and that's saying a lot! My son is an extremely complicated and fragile patient. He is non verbal and has cognitive impairment but Juan spoke to him like they have been friends for years! He was kind and compassionate and funny! My son visits Goryeb on a regular basis for treatment of his Leukemia. We've been in and out of Goryeb over the last 13 months and we still have 23 more months of treatment to go. The staff is incredible, from the nurses, to the doctors, the dietary people that make him meals each day and even the staff that takes care of cleaning his room. The people were just rude, ignored my questions, and weren't patient. Aren't they supposed to be kid doctors, didn't like yhe treatment my kids received! Now from my adult experience for an appointment I was pleased.
Originally I had said "The staff is so wonderful I really feel like they genuinely care and we feel like we're in good hands" but I spoke too soon. We have been waiting ALL DAY for my son to be taken to have an MRI. We knew before the weekend he would be having an MRI Monday morning and we were told it would be first thing in the morning and he'd be top priority since he's a baby and we were instructed not to feed him past midnight since he needs to be sedated. My daughter went to the ER last night and was treated like a queen. The staff went out of their way to make her feel comfortable and less nervous about getting stitches!!! Stephanie, Amanda, Jaime and everyone else were incredible. They took care of me too ;)... So glad to be living close to a hospital like this one!!! THANK YOU!!!
