On Saturday 4/18/2015, the alternator went out on my car around noon I live in Antioch but work in Fairfield. I called the local dealer and a local independent repair shop. Neither one of these places had the alternator to do the repairs that day. The best possible date from either of them was Monday. He does excellent work and even better is that he's a straight shooter. He may tell you things that you may not want to hear but I like that about him. He's an honest guy that charges an honest price for an honest work. I used honest three times in one sentence but that should speak volumes as to the type of guy he is

When it comes to honesty and customer satisfaction it's hard to beat this place. The owner is as genuine and friendly as they come. Had two cars repaired here and cost were much more reasonable than bigger shops.

I was headed home from SF when my check engine light came on and my car started shaking violently. I had no idea what was going on but my car was not drivable. Of course it was 5:00pm on a Saturday. Not being familiar with the area I checked the yelp reviews on the mechanics nearby (my insurance would only tow me 11 miles) and decided to called Golden Gate Auto Repair. Stopped by without an appointment to see if they could check my car out as my ac was not working. Matt helped and my car was worked on right away. Waited an hour and everything was good to go!

Been going to Matt for the past 2 years. I took my car in today at 830am for some brake work, it was done by 10am because he knew I had to be at work by noon. Efficient and honest mechanic.

Matt saved my weekend when my car broke down on the way to Lake Tahoe from San Francisco. The car wouldn't start after a dinner break on the road, and when the tow truck came, most places in the area were either closed already or wouldn't take my car since it was a weekend. Matt not only spent 10 minutes on the phone with me on a Friday night, but he said he would come in over the weekend to fix it, and even let me keep the car there an extra day so that I didn't have to drive back and forth from Tahoe to pick it up. Matt is amazing! My car was broken into in San Francisco by the passengers side window being smashed in and I needed to get my car cleaned of the glass as well as have the window replaced. Not only was he cheaper than the other places but he cleaned out all the glass in my car by taking out my seat. He told me it took him about 2 hrs to clean it all out (which I believe for how much the glass flew all over the place) and he only charged me for 20 minutes! I took my Honda here after reading some good Yelp reviews and this place definitely lived up to its Yelp reputation. The first time I took my car there, the front end was shaking like hell whenever I drove over 65 MPH, and the owner (Matt) quickly diagnosed the problem and sent me on my way.
