After my truck broke down on the side of interstate 80 prior to Fairfield in the hot sun 1:00pm. My insurance company sent a tow and sent me off to Golden gate Automotive. Matt assured me he would get me back on the road before he closed - and sure enough they did. Replaced the fuel pump in record time

I came in for a diagnostic of the Check Engine light. The diagnostic was done immediately, taking less than 10 minutes at NO COST. I came back the next day to get the car repaired. The diagnostic code indicated a pin hole leak in the gas line. I arrived at 11:00, job was done in 90 minutes. The leak was in the gas tank. Rather than get a new/used gas tank, he suggested a silicon patch. A new gas tank costs $900. I went with the patch. It only costed $90. We'll see how long the patch lasts. This guy is awesome. He charges about half the price of everybody else, does twice a job they could ever do, he's extremely kind and sociable, a total Einstein-the hair says it all, and he'll check every possible issue before tearing into the engine. Best mechanic in town bar none. You wont regret it. I promise!!!!

This is really a pre-service review. i called the shop on a Saturday because my father's 1998 Olds 88 had an engine light appear while I was driving back from Concord to Fairfield. he said we can do a quick scan, just bring it in. Really, on a Saturday. That is a 5 star rating shop. I'll do another rating for this shop after the actual service is done.

Matt does indeed have crazy hair but he is a honest and hardworking guy that will give you a good price and do a great job. They should rename this place to Einstein's auto repair.

I recently had a major problem with my car, and blew a head gasket. I had the car towed to this shop because it was close to my house. The owner, Matt was very honest and confirmed that the car was a total loss, as it would cost more to fix it than it was worth. I was very sad, as this was my only means of transportation. Matt was very honest and reasonable. 4 rotors replaced and brake pads. They were really bad, now they are great. Would do future business there. Very friendly too.

Oh my gosh! If you are looking for a knowledgeable mechanic this is your place! I've had several machanic a try to figure out and fail for 8 years what's wrong with my converted handicapped van and he found it! He special ordered the part and let me know immediately when the part came in and had it fixed by midday. He may seem a little odd but his knowledge on vehicles is amazing. I highly recommend and I will be returning with any and all problem to his shop.
