Stopped by while on a cruise for some good chowder and was not disappointed. I went with the Traditional Clam while my wife went for the Seafood. Both were excellent. My wife's Seafood Chowder was overflowing with seafood. My clam had real good flavor, although I had way more potato than clam (maybe the server didn't get a good ladel full). Solid stop for tourists looking for good local favorites.
My favorite is the clam chowder. I head the fish (halibut) chowder is also excellent.
Great food at ok prices. They are one of the best and OMG the chowder!!!
It was delicious.. Had the seafood chowder and clam strips.... Service was excellent....
The chowders and service are both outstanding. We will be back.
I had lobster 4 times while visiting. The best one is at Gilberts.
Got to have the Super Seafood Chowder in the bread bowl. Outrageous!!!
We knew before arriving in Portland this is where we were going. It did not disappoint. We had New England Clam Chowder, Seafood Chowder, fried clam strips and lobster roll. All were delicious. My favorite was the clam chowder. Service was excellent. We went early and there were no cruise ships in port. Got a large clam chowder to go the next day to eat on the road.
Great location with the best seafood chowder I've ever had! Lobster roll was all lobster!! Yum!!! Service was very good and courteous.
