Food was really good! But waited awhile for the food to be served to us.

The clam chowder was more like potato soup. Negligible pieces of clam and thin for chowder. Very disappointed.

"Award-winning " chowder, as stated on the menu does not equal potato soup. My mother-in-law ate there today and found few discernible clams. The haddock sandwich was very average. So much hype that isn't deserved. Do yourselves a favor and eat elsewhere!

The lobster stew was so amazing I took a container of it back home to Pittsburgh with me--it was loaded with so much lobster meat you'd swear they put the entire lobster in it!! The servers were super friendly too and I would definitely come back if I ever get to visit Maine again!

Not sure how I've lived in Maine all my life and missed out on this treasure! I'm usually not even a big fan of chowder but decided to try the seafood chowder and was blown away, sooo good!!! My husband tried the lobster stew and was blown away as well! And we shared a seafood platter which was also amazing! We couldn't finish and ended up bringing some home, very generous portions! Today was our first visit but definitely will not be our last!! Great food, great service, great atmosphere… What's not to love?

Gilbert's chowders are excellent. Lobster roll very good but...wait for it...their scallops were the best I have ever had anywhere- fresh deliciousness. I am a foodie, and fussy...their seafood offerings top many other restaurants STATEWIDE. Nuff said.
