Very disappointed with the food. Clam cakes were mushy & not much flavor. The haddock filet on the haddock sandwich was cut down to size to fit the bun. As a native Mainer I definitely expected more. Service was efficient & friendly but not above ordinary.

Hello. We don't like to hear our clam cakes are soft in the middle. If they're pattied to thick in the morning, that can happen. As for the haddock, that also is cut up in the morning for the day, it should always be a quarter pound. Unfortunately we don't always get it right. My apologies.
Enjoyed our visit to Portland from Pensacola,FL Gulf Coast. Gilbert's is the place to get Chowder! We visited twice and I even bought a tile to put in my kitchen to remind me of my trip to Maine, a wonderful place to experience the sites and food. Can't wait til next summer to visit you again.
