I just left my local Beer Wine and Liquor Concord Beverage in Mentor, OH. A nice little carry out run by friendly people. It seems they are closing the store as his liquor license has been awarded to a Giant Eagle about 2 miles away. Did the state cut him a check....yes, did he have a choice to take the check or not...no. Seems he would not have been awarded the license at renewal. Way to go Giant Eagle you could have pushed the State to add a new license for the area but instead took the back door and closed a nice neighbor... read more
