Service was awesome, we made a reservation so we didn’t have to wait. Chowder wasn’t great, very thin and watery.

Business response:

Hi Heather, I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed our service! We have been serving Rhode Island Chowder since 1948, it is a clear broth base unlike "New England" chowder which contains fillers like flour. It is certainly a unique RI tradition, but it has been a popular item since we opened 70 years ago! We hope that you come back and give some other options a try if that wasn't quite your taste

Food was horrible and the portion for my clam strip entree was that of an appetizer. The manager on duty was rude and needs a change in attitude. We will never go back again.

We went yesterday afternoon for the 1948 prices. Well. First off. Clamcakes and chowder are free for all. However. The 1948 prices only consist of fried clams, lobster roll, fish and chips, or the seafood platter and that's a ratio of 1 to 1 as long as you buy an entree at 2018 prices. the white Chowda was more broth than stock, no rue. we didn't feel it was a bad deal I got the ribeye it was cooked to Perfection very tasty, my husband got the seafood platter it was okay he wasn't overly thrilled about it. Our friends felt t... read more

Delicious. Awesome Chowder and clam cakes! Worth the drive. The place was packed, but it was not really loud. Pretty laid back atmosphere. Waitstaff was really working hard.

Business response:

Thanks for the love!

Their January deal of 1948 prices is just crazy! $.50 clam cakes and $.50 chowder. $4 lobster rolls and $6 seafood platter; it's pretty fantastic. Everyone should swing by

Business response:

Thanks for the shout out

All I can say is that George’s does not hold up to their reputation. On the Matri’d they said Georges was going back 1948 prices we were all excited, until we got there. They told us you have to buy one entre for regular price and then you could buy only fish n chips, seafood platter, clam cakes and water down chowder, and lobster roll for 1948 prices they fail to specify what is and isn’t . We made a travel out of nothing and the services was not good and I am making sure everybody knows. Soda was regular price, in 1948 it ... read more

Business response:

Our chowder is a Rhode Island clear broth chowder not the thick crap you get at most places.
