The Genealogical Forum of Oregon, Inc. is a non-profit organization founded in 1946. The objectives of the Forum are to instruct in research, to create an interest in genealogy, and to share, compile and publish genealogical and historical materials. The Genealogical Forum of Oregon is a great place to learn about family history, get research tips, take classes from experts and those who have been researching their family tree's for decades. You can take mini classes on a monthly basis in the fields of general genealogy, DNA, as well as join a special interest group with others who are searching for ancestors from the same area that you might be!. The treasure trove of information is staggering!! Come and join the fun!
I joined the forum a little over a year ago and I love it..I only have time to visit twice a month for the DNA group and the Learn & Chat but I always learn new things and have a great time too.The book and record collection continues to amaze me and the volunteers are awesome. I highly recommend it. And it's right on the new Trimet orange line.
The GFO is a wonderful place to learn about family history!
My son told of this lovely forum as he used to pass by it on the bus, I am finally getting around to checking it out and looking forward to the upcoming seminars and hopefully joining and volunteering in the near future. Thank you for being here in Portland
