Straddling the Schuylkill Highlands, the 7,730-acre park is the largest block of contiguous forest between Washington D.C. and New York City. The forests, lakes, wetlands and fields are a destination for the people of southeast Pennsylvania to hike, fish, camp and bike.

I had a nice trail hike here, and I liked following the well maintained trails. Area is good for short to long day hikes. Elevation changes and rocky terrain may be challenging for some beginner hikers. Park also has plenty of camping sites and a nice colonial historical site to visit called Hopewell Forge. There are also plenty of outdoor activities in this Park to do besides hiking.
we have spent a lot of time at French Creek over the years. Camping, swimming , hiking, fishing, and picnics. There is a lot to do at the park and within the surrounding area. Great place for families. Always an adventure and fun when we are there. Our girls grew up going to French Creek and now our grandkids enjoy going there.
