I purchased an admin and two application fees to Cortland ****, with the intention of becoming a resident in their apartment complex. I live at Cascades at Northlake Cortland, in North ********* I've been here for almost 3 years now and it's just spiraling downhill. My rent increased by almost $200 and no increase in customer service. The property manager is a complete disappointment. I've sent numerous emails, plenty of calls, face to face visits, and nothing gets resolved (that's if she responds). There has been a large increase to violence within the Cortland University apartments on baseline road in *********. My granddaughter has seen firsthand squatters living on property using and dealing drugs, she had her car broken into multiple times, as well as maintenance men carrying firearms to residence homes. ***************** are aware of these issues but the young ladies have not done anything about it. We lived here for almost 3 years. We loved the apartment and property. We moved. Did all things requested, written 60 day notice, cleaning list completed. Even for assurance paid the $150.00 fee for them to do an express cleaning. But when sent a final ****. They are trying to charge a $ ****** fee for fumigation claiming the apartment smelled. Is there ANY decent property management company that exists in ******************?? I had high hopes when the tenants were told a new property management team would be replacing our current one. I was wrong; they might be worse. If I could give zero stars I would. They no only have raised the rent substantially on its own, they are also nickel and diming is by allowing a third party **** collector (Conserve) to collect fees for services we dont even have! For instance, theres a valet trash service that is at best hit or miss. Also, why am I paying for natural gas when everything is electric? Additionally, theres a $5 monthly fee for insect control, but Im still seeing roaches in my bathroom every morning. Since Cortland took over our complex, I feel... read more

Ive been in Courtland ************* for approx 4 months now. This complex is bug infested. The gate is consistently broken. Supposedly a courtesy officer was hired that sets their own schedule which is pretty pointless when there is marijuana smoke coming through the vents constantly at night. There is consistent fighting and banging on the walls. Its sacreligious that they are able to charge so much for rent and not uphold basic maintenance and security. Cortland is a joke! Everything about it from their CEO to their employees that like sleeping with upper management to get there way with anything. I have never been SOOO disgusted to have been part of such a toxic company!
