The food was everything!! Excellent and the cornbread was amazing.
I rate it a 3 because I've had some food that I truly enjoyed. Unfortunately, I have had some that I didn't. I have twice ordered the sliders and neither time were they hot but both times they were dry. The Devil-ish Eggs were disappointing and not very flavorful. BUT I have thoroughly enjoyed the mussels, pot pie, bbq ribs, and mushroom risotto.
We had breakfast here and the food was delicious. I had the hangover hash. It was unique and very tasty. Charles, our server was very helpful and our food came out quickly. I would definitely go again if I was in DC.
they may have been overwhelmed but we waited for more than an hour when they said it would be 40 minutes. when we were finally ready to be seated, the hostess told us that we had to be done within an hour, rude much? Then we waited for 20 minutes just to get our drinks. Had to ask for utensils. sadly this did not live up to the expectation, The food was great, but the service was horrendous.
I went with two friends I hadn't seen in years. They had the shrimp and grits and the Founders' salad. My friend especially raved about the shrimp and grits. I had had a big lunch so I ordered dessert, the seasonal crisp with vanilla bean ice cream. The seasonal fruit were pears and cranberries. The ice cream was heavenly as was the fruit crisp. A restaurant that can make oatmeal memorable definitely makes my restaurant all-star list. By the way I also had eggs, apple smoked bacon and beignets and all were scrumptious then some. Drop by if your in DC. This place will satisfy!
