History Established in 1946. In 1930, my grandfather Robert Kittredge along with his brother, a pet monkey and a baby coyote, drove into Oak Creek Canyon on one of the first motorcycles built by Harley-Davidson. They bought the property which is now Forest Houses Resort, for $60 per acre and began building the Log House, their dreamed-about citadel in the woods. The Log House took three years to finish. Today we, and our dogs, departed from our sixth stay at Forest Houses. As with every other time, the place was perfect in every way. The Bridge House is awesome, and I love falling asleep to the noise of the creek. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and Tom is very nice to talk to. I can't wait to come back in September.

Best place to stay in Arizona! We stay here every year, since at least 2000! Bob and staff are awesome, the canyon is so beautiful. A little slice of Heaven on Earth!!
Stayed in the Oak House and was absolutely superb in every detail. No TV or Cell service but the views and creek you will forget all about that! The views are breathtaking and will be back.
We had such a great time and are so thankful we chose Forest Houses Resort for our 25th wedding anniversary getaway! The cabin was perfect, the location was gorgeous, and we just loved it. We will definitely be back!
NOT dog friendly (even though they claim to be), their cleaning company they use do a poor job AND lie. AND they are HORRIBLE about returning phone calls. What was a pretty good vacation in beautiful Sedona leaves a bad taste in your mouth after receiving bad service there.

This place is wonderful, we spent two nights in the Barn. Our new family vacation destination in AZ.
What an amazing place! We can't wait to stay here again. We stayed in the Barn house and would love to try out another house next time. So beautiful and quiet. Perfect little getaway!
