Bad Experience with Folsom Lake Toyota On 12-07-10 at approximately 1010 hours, I brought my car into Folsom Lake Toyota for the replacement of the electronic control module due to a safety recall by toyota. Upon my arrival, I spoke to Chris Oxley (service adviser) who told me that the ECM will take 2 to 2 1/2 hours to replace. At approximately 1100 hours, Oxley called me and told me that i have a bad starter and it will cost $513 to fix. nice I've read some negative reviews about them, but my favorite restaurant has some bad reviews, and they had a car i was looking for so I checked them out. I called first and the guy I talked to seemed friendly and knew about the car and said it was nice so I went to see it. I had gone to a couple of other dealerships and they were so so but I have to admit the car at Folsom was the nicest and was exactly what they said it was over the phone. The salesperson I dealt with was very knowledgable, friendly, and professional. I received a fair amount of $ for my trade-in, and got a great deal on my new 4Runner. If you are in the markey for a new vehicle, Folsom Lake Toyota is a great place to shop!
Folsom Lake Toyota is undependable and misleading. The service was terrible, I had to wait forever for an oil change. They did a free inspection and you think they are helping you but they are really trying to find anything they can report a problem on or find ways to make up issues. Then they recommend pricey fixes and waste your time and money. The last time I was there, they forgot to do my wheel alignment and charged me anyways. Folsom Lake Toyota is not honest: Lies to make money I went there to get a door (inside) handle replaced for my Toyota Corolla. The estimate given to me was 250$. I asked why the estimate is so high. The service agent replied that to replace the inside door handle, the door panel has to be taken out....and it will 1.5 hours of service. I checked Internet and found a way to replace the door handle without removing the door panel. I asked the same agent that door panel need not be removed.
