Not for a furnace tune-up, unless you want to be scared into purchasing a new one. He turns the thermostat up to 90. He looks at my furnace for 20-25 minutes tops. He does a few smoke and mirror tricks. Then tells me I need a new furnace and with good conscience he can't leave with the unit on. So he turns it off, along with telling me it leaking carbon monoxide and I shouldn't allow the old unit to run because it could be dangerous for my family. My furnace has been running just fine.
