Fat Matt's is always a wonderfully tasteful experience. The staff is prompt and polite. I recommend this place to everyone
Ribs were fantastic. And them Rum Baked Beans? Oh Lort!
Some of the best ribs I've ever tasted!!! The other stuff is good but the ribs (with just a touch of extra sauce) are SPECIAL. The only things that equal the ribs are the authentic atmosphere and the warm and friendly Southern hospitality. A visit to Fat Matt's Rib Shack includes both great food and an excellent experience.
While the food is great the inside seating is way too small for that loud band. Tables nearer to the band was empty due to the loud noise. No one sitting inside can communicate with their friends due to the loudness of the band.
The food was really good, but a little pricey. I wanted to get the ribs but I just could not convince myself to pay $13.50 for a 1/2 rack or $25 for a full rack. I got two sides, collards and Brunswick stew. The collards were excellent. The stew was really good. However, given the size of the serving, they were a bit pricey at $2.50 each. I'm enjoying my staycation, was looking for a place to deliver to our hotel, found Fat Matt's online, since all the reviews were good, we decided to order, I'm so glad we did. We ordered, ribs, chicken, pulled pork, brunswick stew, collard greens, and macaroni and cheese, everything was delicious. Kellee Taylor, the kids, and I enjoyed everything. We didn't order dessert, $25 is too high for a sweet potato pie.
