I needed cataract surgery. Dr. Nicolas office kept referring me to surgeon's who were out of my network. I finally called a surgeon myself and explained what was going on. They took me right away. Nicolas office sucks. If I had listened to her I would have lost all sight in my left eye. Thank goodness I found a Dr. who listened to me. I was diagnosed with a hole in my left retina. She was trying to make me think it was in my head.

Dr Nicola saw me related to an eye trauma from a car accident. She did a great job and was very reassuring. More importantly, I followed up with her via email and she responded quickly and compassionately. I cannot tell you how refreshing it is to have a doctor treat you so kindly and graciously in these modern times. None of my other doctors are even close to being as available, helpful, and responsive as she was. I highly recommend her.

I do not know what is going on with this office but something isn't quite right. I would have loved to have seen Dr. Nicola but it seems like her practice management is unethically nickel and diming patients. First, the receptionist or the woman checking me in was really quite rude. It's not what she said but how she said it. Second, they charged me more than the insurance agreement for an eye exam for my copay. Dr. Paula Nicola is very natural at her craft. She's very professional with a lot of kindness and compassion. Makes it look so easy. Laural, does an excellent job also. She talks you through the whole process with a smile.
